I love the winning, I can take the losing, but most of all I love to play.

"Невозможно - это всего лишь громкое слово, за которое прячутся маленькие люди. Им проще жить в привычном мире, чем найти в себе силы его изменить. Невозможно - это не факт. Это только мнение. Невозможно - это не приговор. Это вызов! Невозможно - это шанс проверить себя. Невозможно - это не навсегда. НЕВОЗМОЖНОЕ ВОЗМОЖНО!!!

Do you have a favourite quote? - Manissa, Indonesia

Ana: I like the line "A smile is a curve that can straighten out a lot of problems."

Would you consider living in Melbourne in the future? - Kong, Australia

Ana: Definitely. But it would have to be when I retire, because unfortunately it's so far from the tournaments.

What is your favorite TV show? – Olga

Ana: It's between 24, Prison Break and Lost. I like thrillers.

It has been an emotional two weeks. In fact, it has been a lot longer than that, because I arrived in Sydney on the 14th of December and prepared hard for the tournament. During this training period I was motivated by the possibility of winning a Grand Slam. I had a pretty good chance, but I couldn't find my game. It's very disappointing that I wasn't able to play my best tennis - I served well but I had a shocker with my forehand. But on the other hand, Maria played very well and I have to give her a lot of credit. After the match I shed a few tears. I'm quite a sensitive, emotional person, and the whole experience of these two weeks just hit me. It would have been the perfect ending if I could have won, especially on my uncle's birthday, but it wasn't to be.

This experience will give me extra motivation to train even harder to make sure that next time I can go one step further. It also gives me more confidence. I know I'm close to winning a Grand Slam and I belong to the top group of players - only nine months ago I was ranked 16, and now I'm No.2. I am proud of this achievement, but I'm still getting used to it!

Everyone in Melbourne has been so kind to me during this fortnight. From the drivers to the waiters in restaurants, the staff at my hotel and the tournament organisers, I've felt so much support. Everyone wished me "good luck" for my matches and were so welcoming to me. I want to thank all of them. Just as importantly, I'd like to thank everyone who supported me during my matches. There were some dodgy moments on the way to the final and I was all the time helped by their incredible enthusiasm. They each helped in my victories, and they were great during the final too.

I'm leaving Melbourne this afternoon. I would love to stay around for a few days and enjoy the city now that the tennis is over, but the Fed Cup competition begins on Wednesday in Hungary and I have to get there as soon as I can to join the team and train for it.

Last year's French Open final was very disappointing for me, but I feel like I recovered quite well afterwards. I didn't dwell on it too much and I was able to achieve some success as Wimbledon a few weeks later. For sure it will be hard not to think about the final, not least that terrible drop shot I played at 5-4, 30-0, but it's actually a blessing that I have a new, immediate challenge.

In my news conference after the match I was asked if I had suffered from nerves, like I did in the Paris final. I don't think nerves played a part. I feel like I learned from that experience and I was able to stop myself from becoming too excited. Unlike at the French Open, I never thought, "Oh my God, I could win a Grand Slam!" I was focused on the task of just winning the match, but I was still unable to perform as I had hoped.

I'm going to miss Melbourne. I love the layout of the city. It's so different to the other places I've visited, and it feels so clean and safe. Right now I leave feeling both happy and a little bit sad, but in a short while I will look back with 100% positive emotions.

Already I can't wait to come back next year.
