Today was the first day since I came here that I was able to sleep in. I woke up around 8:30, which I guess isn't that late, but compared to the other early mornings it probably is! Unfortunately, I woke up with a cold, the same cold my mom just got over. She says it's not her fault and that I got it because I wasn't wearing warm enough clothes, but it's probably her fault and she just doesn't want to admit it! Now she's feeling 100% fine... I couldn't even open my mouth this morning!
I got myself going in the morning with some exciting music (I also danced a bit in my room), so I was still able to pump myself up, and I still played well enough to win my fourth round match with Medina Garrigues in straight sets, 63 63. I was actually up 4-1 in the second set and she broke me back for 4-3, but then I was able to break her again and finish it off. It was pretty tough because my nose was runny and my eyes were watery, but I'm hoping my day off tomorrow will help me recover for my quarterfinal match on Thursday against Davenport or Bartoli. I've been playing better and better here and I don't want that momentum to stop.
After my match I did my press conference and asked them not to ask too many questions because my voice was pretty raspy, but then one of the media told me I sounded sexy this way. I was cracking up! It was a very funny comment. Of course, the press conference ended up being as long as it usually is!
So I've been waiting for my hairdresser to come and put some more of those fuscia extensions in my hair so it's more visible, but I can't seem to find her. She was supposed to meet me a little while ago. Maybe she's lost or something... I have no idea where she is. Hopefully she's okay! It's okay, hopefully tomorrow we can find time. I would like a good hairdo for my next match.
Other than that, I probably won't do too much tonight. I'll definitely be watching Monica on Dancing With The Stars. It's really great to see her on TV again. I'll be rooting for her! Maybe I'll even vote!
Do you drive, and if so what kind of car do you drive? - Pinky
I do drive. In Serbia I'm a promoter of Hyundai, so I drive a Hyundai Santa Fe jeep there; in Miami, I drive a 2008 Porsche 911. I really like driving in the USA because the roads here are really big so there's more room when I'm trying to park. I'm not as comfortable driving in Serbia so usually I get driven around there. They drive faster there and the roads are smaller, so I'm a little bit scared. I just don't want to scratch any cars!
Do you plan on playing any doubles this year? - Ben, Germany
Singles is still my priority, so I'm not playing much doubles. Especially at the moment I'm not in the greatest shape, so playing both is very tiring for me. Maybe I'll play doubles again in the future but not much for now.
You've been wearing pink tennis dresses a lot. Do you just really like the dress or is it from superstition? - Magda, Netherlands
I have a white and a pink tennis dress and I can rotate between them: that's how it works with Reebok. I'm not sure when I'll get the new ones but for now I'm happy with these, and I especially like the pink one, so that's why you see me wearing it a lot! I'm a person who prefers brighter colors. I'd love to wear more bright colors in the future, like red, yellow, bright blue, bright pink; I think those colors suit me best. I hope there will be more that suits my taste in the future!
Do you like animals? If so, which is your favorite?
I do like animals! I have a pet dog, a Maltese. He's so adorable, but he never stops barking! He goes on and on and on. When he's in the house he's fine, but when he sees someone he doesn't know he barks. He acts like he's going to eat you and tries to look very strong but really he's harmless. It's just his way of expressing himself! And he's really small, like a snowball. He's a really smart dog, the only problem is his barking. I'd take him to one of those professional training schools but I couldn't take seeing him get zapped when he barks too much... so for now I'll put up with it! His name is Napoleon and he lives at my Miami home. My dad is looking after him. He's probably barking right now!
